My name is Maurizio Moritz, I am 20 years old and I come from Mödling, south of Vienna. I have often been asked why I chose windsurfing as my „passion“ and how I got into it, although this sport is not really popular in Austria.

The love for windsurfing was laid in my cradle, as my father is also an enthusiastic windsurfer and took me to my „home spot Podersdorf“ at Lake Neusiedl when I was young. I can still remember the exact moment when I stood on a surfboard with a 1.5 square meter sail for the first time. I will never forget that feeling and it has stayed with me to this day.

I am especially fascinated by the combination of the elements of nature, wind and water. I appreciate nature and treat these elements with special respect.

Furthermore, it is the feeling of freedom, joy and pride that made me continue to practice this wonderful sport.

Over the years my hobby windsurfing developed into a real passion. The first surfboard was bought, many experiences were gained and the first moves were confessed. I am especially grateful for the many beautiful moments in international waters.

Risco del Paso on Fuerteventura is considered my second home, because we spent a lot of great time there, right on the spot, surrounded by nature.

This spot has given me so many great moments, surfing with the pros, social get-togethers and conversations until sunset have shaped my childhood and youth there until today.
